Longtime Atlanta Civil Rights and Employment Lawyer Ed Buckley Adds Three Name Partners to Firm, becoming Buckley Bala Wilson Mew LLP

ATLANTA (Feb. 1, 2023) – There is a new firm in Midtown Atlanta: Buckley Bala Wilson Mew LLP, opened for business on February 1.

The new name reflects the combined skills of some of Georgia’s leading employment, civil rights and business litigation lawyers.

As managing partner, Ed Buckley said he’s excited that three of his firm’s top lawyers will now be reflected in the firm’s name. “We have one of the toughest and smartest teams of employment and civil rights attorneys in the country,” Buckley said. “We win victories by fighting for the rights of our clients, who’ve suffered discrimination, whistleblower retaliation, harassment and more at the hands of their employers. I’m so proud of each of these attorneys for what they’ve achieved so far, and all the great work we’ll do together in the years to come.” Buckley has represented employees and individuals at every level and has numerous victories to his credit in the trial and appellate courts. A skilled negotiator, he also represents executives in negotiating their severance and employment contracts.

The new name partners are Anita K. Bala, Ashley Wilson Clark and Thomas J. Mew IV.

“I’m thrilled to join Ed, Ashley and Tom as a name partner,” said Bala. “We’ve worked together as a team for many years and I have immense confidence in their abilities and professionalism as skilled litigators and partners.” Bala has extensive experience representing clients in employment and civil rights litigation at the trial and appellate level.

Wilson Clark is an accomplished litigator whose background includes trial and appellate wins in both federal and state court in a wide range of employment and complex business litigation matters. “We’re looking forward to providing an enhanced representation experience for our clients with the new firm while continuing to maintain our position as the go-to employment and civil rights firm in Georgia,” said Wilson Clark.

Mew’s lengthy legal career includes his key role in the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2020 Bostock v. Clayton County decision which held that Title VII prohibits discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. “I’m thrilled to be practicing law alongside Ed, Anita and Ashley and look forward to continuing our efforts in the fight against workplace discrimination,” added Mew.
