Buckley Bala Wilson Mew LLP Attorney Thomas J. Mew IV Promoted to Partner

ATLANTA (April 9, 2019)Buckley Bala Wilson Mew LLP, one of Atlanta’s leading employment and business litigation law firms, recently named Thomas (Tom) Mew as the firm’s newest partner. He will be joining Buckley Bala Wilson Mew LLP’s five other partners.

Mew has extensive experience in both individual and class action wage-and-hour, discrimination, and harassment litigation, whistleblower litigation and arbitration and mediation. He also regularly advises on employment contracts, releases and restrictive covenant issues.

Mew extends his litigation expertise to more than just his clients. He frequently presents at Continuing Legal Education Events and has also written two legal books.

He is the author of “Georgia Motion Practice,” a guide to civil motion practice in Georgia’s trial and appellate courts. Most recently, he co-authored the just published book Georgia Employment Law (ALM 2019). He is also a contributing author to “Employee Benefits Law (3d. Ed.)” (Bloomberg BNA 2012) and was named one of the Georgia legal community’s “Rising Stars” in 2006, 2007 and 2009.

Prior to joining Buckley Bala Wilson Mew LLP in 2015, Tom practiced law for many years at Rogers & Hardin LLP. Tom is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law and was a member of the school’s National Moot Court team which won the National Moot Court Competition (of which Mew was awarded runner-up Best Oralist). He was also named to both the Order of the Coif and Order of the Barristers. Following law school, Tom clerked for Judge Herschel Franks of the Tennessee Court of Appeals and for the Honorable Harold L. Murphy of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

The now six-partner team is charged with making key firm decisions, overseeing its day-to-day operations, marketing and intake processes and generally ensuring the business is running at full steam.
